Research Scientist
Join Collective Minds as a Research Scientist and combine medical imaging, programming, data analytics and AI with hands-on research and project ownership in an innovative Healthtech company.
Are you a hands-on research scientist with deep expertise in medical imaging and strong technical skills in programming, data analytics and AI?
Do you enjoy combining scientific research with practical technical development, taking ownership and driving complex research collaborations towards successful outcomes?
Collective Minds is looking for a Research Scientist to drive scientific and technical contributions in public and private research consortia. This is an opportunity to combine research, technology and project ownership in a growing international healthtech company.
About Collective Minds
Collective Minds is based in Stockholm/Danderyd and we operate globally across clinical trials and life sciences. We are an imaging platform for clinical trials that connects hospitals, experts, and industry - including CROs, pharma, biotech, medtech, and eClinical vendors - enabling trials with imaging endpoints and the generation of high-quality evidence faster and more efficiently. We are a fast-moving, commercially minded team focused on collaboration, accountability, and impact. By combining deep domain expertise in medical imaging with novel cloud technology, we help customers reduce risk, ensure compliance, accelerate and scale research.
About the role
As Research Scientist, you will combine scientific expertise in medical imaging with hands-on technical development and ownership of selected research consortia.
Collective Minds currently participates in more than 10 public and private research consortia spanning medical imaging, big data, analytics and AI modeling and validation. These collaborations bring together academic hospitals, research organizations and industry partners across therapeutic areas such as oncology, immunology, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal research.
Acting as a data manager and platform provider, Collective Minds plays a central role in these collaborations. You will be responsible for our contributions in two to three consortia, with the opportunity to apply your scientific and technical expertise, work independently and contribute to impactful research.
Your main responsibilities:
Lead Collective Minds' contributions in selected research consortia, ensuring delivery within agreed budgets, timelines and scope.
Develop and implement technical solutions, including scripts, data pipelines, analytical tools, dashboards and AI-based applications.
Make scientific and technical decisions across medical imaging, data analytics, AI modeling and validation.
Ensure effective use of the Collective Minds platform, prioritizing standardized and scalable solutions over unnecessary custom development.
Manage project scope and stakeholder expectations, clearly defining deliverables and commitments.
Take ownership of work package delivery, reporting to consortium partners, coordinators and funders, and efficient project close-outs.
Collaborate with internal teams and external research partners, coordinating additional resources when needed.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a scientifically experienced and technically skilled professional who combines deep expertise in medical imaging with the ability to independently develop solutions and deliver complex research projects.
You are analytical, pragmatic and hands-on, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. You enjoy taking ownership, collaborating across disciplines and driving results in a fast-moving environment.
We believe you have:
A strong scientific background in life sciences, medicine, biomedical engineering or a related field, with deep expertise in medical imaging research.
Strong hands-on technical skills in Python, SQL, DICOM and AI frameworks, with experience developing scripts, data tools and analytical solutions. Familiarity with dashboarding tools such as Superset or Metabase is a plus.
Experience delivering work packages in research consortia or grant-funded projects, including grant execution, reporting and project close-outs.
A proven ability to independently manage research projects within agreed budgets, timelines and scope, and make informed scientific and technical decisions.
Experience coordinating work across academic, clinical and industry partners, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Willingness to travel internationally as required, typically approximately every two months.
Ability to work regularly from our Stockholm/Danderyd office.
Why join Collective Minds?
At Collective Minds, you will join an innovative and ambitious company where technology, science and collaboration come together to make a meaningful difference in healthcare.
You will be part of an entrepreneurial environment with short decision-making processes, engaged colleagues and the opportunity to influence how things are done.
This is an opportunity to work with leading scientific and industry partners, contribute to innovative research collaborations and play an important role in the continued growth of an international healthtech company.
